Healthy Habits for 2017

​Happy new year! Now, it’s time for us to make some new purposes more, have a healthier lifestyle….  there are some health tips that could help you to achieve your goals for the new year.

  • Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and seafood.
  • The daily diet is the key to maintain a healthy life. To live better, try to make half your plate fruits and vegetables, make at least half your grains whole, eat fish twice a week, all these habits can help you to keep a good lifestyle .Eat more healthy fats and fiber.
In addition to the last tips about our diet, we need to also pay attention to the consumption of healthy fats which provide us energy and avoid the risk of several cardiovascular diseases. The latest science shows that healthy fats sources include olive oil, avocados and nuts.
When it comes to boosting your fiber intake, be sure to focus on eating more vegetables, nuts and seeds.

  • Exercise regularly.
Aim for at least 150 minutes a week of physical activities. You can divide it into 30 minutes, five to six times a week after work. Daily exercise can keep our bodies strength and it is also beneficial as it helps to be more concentrative and productive.

​Meditate for 5 to 10 minutes a day. Stress-related problems, including back pain, insomnia and acid reflux are getting more and more common and meditation is excellent for stress relief and relaxation. For the new year, you can try to meditate in the morning, even before you get out of bed, 5 or 10 minutes are enough to help us to deal the daily stress.

  • ​Get eight hours of sleep each night.
Sleep is tightly tied to our immune system and hormone levels, the lack of sleep can cause physical stress and illness which could increase risk of numerous chronic diseases. Besides, sleep deprivation also disturbs the production of melatonin, hormone that inhibits the proliferation of a wide range of cancer cell types.
According to numerous studies, most adults need about eight hours of sleep every night. So, let’s do some small adjustments in the daily routine for 2017 to achieve a better healthy life.  xoxo Paula Forrest
